How do I register to vote?

By mail registrations can take up to three weeks to process. Registrations must be processed three weeks before the date of the election.
You have until October 13th to register by mail or online.
IN PERSON You can register at early voting centers or Same day registration is available at your election poll in DC. If you plan to vote in person, this is an option.
How do I check my voter registration?
DC residents can check to see if their voter registration is active on the DC Board of Elections website: https://www.dcboe.org/Voters/Register-To-Vote/Check-Voter-Registration-Status
Can I vote by mail?
This year, due to COVID19, the DC BOE is mailing ballots to every registered voter. Ballots will be mailed the first week of October.

Can I vote early?
Yes. DC offers early voting at various locations listed here: https://earlyvoting.dcboe.org/
Early voting centers are open from Tuesday, October 27th to Monday, November 2nd.

Voting in Person on Election Day:
You can vote in person on Nov. 3 at one of more than 80 vote centers. The centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Super Vote Centers in D.C.
The Super Vote Centers will be available to accommodate large numbers of voters, but do not offer curbside voting. The centers will be open on Election Day – Tuesday, Nov. 3 – from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
