- DC COVID Sitters: A student-run initiative to match local medical, health profession, graduate and undergraduate students with healthcare workers in the Metro DC area to assist with childcare and other household services during the COVID-19 outbreak.
- GWU Reaching Out: As many elderly individuals are isolated from their families and friends during this pandemic, it is more important than ever to reach out and make sure they are supported. Volunteers will connect over the phone with seniors in the community to chat and mitigate loneliness. Scripts with possible conversation topics are provided, as well as resources for seniors who are having trouble meeting basic needs. This initiative was started by medical students at the George Washington University.
